AREOLA- Ar/vr foR aErOspace pfb-Lb operAtors
In AREOLA (AR/VR for Aerospace PBF-LB Operators), the project partners are committed to modernising the training of equipment operators in additive manufacturing in the aerospace sector. Online training materials and virtual training tools (Virtual Reality - VR and Augmented Reality - AR) are being developed to strengthen vocational training systems for training in this sector.
Currently, the International Additive Manufacturing Qualification System (IAMQS) includes a number of harmonised AM qualifications. Through close liaison with the Additive Manufacturing (AM) industry networks and the aerospace sector, the AREOLA project will enhance the quality of PBF-LB operator training and ensure that the quality standards for training in this sector are met. In addition, providing practical training in a virtual, digital environment using VR and AR will significantly reduce the cost of training for European VET providers, improve access and flexibility, while promoting the attractiveness of VET overall.
