GracefulAM - Generating an AI-Enhanced Learning Platform to Unlock Professional Careers and Inspection Excellence in Additive Manufacturing

grAcefulAM is an Erasmus+ innovation project aimed at closing the significant skills gap in the field of additive manufacturing (AM), with a particular focus on directed energy deposition (DED) and powder bed fusion (PBF) technologies.

The consortium comprises eight partners from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Portugal and Spain.

The project responds directly to this need by developing specialised training programmes and curricula to strengthen skills in the inspection of additively manufactured components.

The objectives are

  • to develop specialised training programmes and curricula for the inspection of additively manufactured components;
  • Developing an AI-supported learning platform that enables personalised, self-directed and adaptive learning through AI-supported pedagogy;
  • Strengthening the capacities of vocational education and training and higher education systems by equipping teachers with the skills to use AI tools, interpret data-driven insights and integrate AI into teaching practice.

With this approach, the project promotes employability, strengthens the capacities of vocational training and higher education systems, and aligns with European priorities in the areas of digital transformation, skills development and sustainability. By combining advanced AM knowledge with AI-supported training, grAcefulAM helps to train a new generation of inspectors capable of ensuring quality and reliability in modern manufacturing.
